Turks and Caicos - Caribbean Vacation by Michael McKelvey

Back in August... Or maybe July. Kristen and I headed south to the crystalline blue waters of the Caribbean with my family. Our rambunctious group hit the sand running and never stopped. Daily snorkeling, a SCUBA mission, chasing sunsets, jet skis to abandoned boats, secret coves, we did it all. And I've put everything together in a nice little edit to share with the world.

I'm slowly adding the ability to order photos to the website. Some of the photographs are now clickable through to smug mug for basic prints. I can be contacted at michaeldmckelvey@gmail.com for more custom prints and work!

This is Stoke by Michael McKelvey

This past winter was a crazy ride. I took my snowboarding to new heights, both literally and figuratively. I also fell, a ton, and got frustrated, and didn't have as much fun as I could have.

This is an unusual state for me. I'm all about fun. It drives most everything I do, but it was eluding my mindset for a good bit of the winter. Somewhere in February or March, I started to find fun again.

New friends opened new doors to incredible experiences that I will never forget, and old friends helped rekindle the stoke for the simple pleasures of snowboarding.

At the end of the season I wasn't even sure I would make an edit, because of how few 'tricks' I had landed. But as I looked over the footage I began to realize, I had so much fun in spite of myself and the evidence was right there in front of my eyes.

Waking up at 3-4 in the morning to get to a spot, hiking miles up into the mountains, breaking boards, breaking bodies, avoiding avalanches, drinking beers in the gondola, riding wiggles, chucking backflips... THIS is snowboarding... and THIS IS STOKE.

The only way from here is up.
